Test your Internet speed.

Welcome to the Internet Assistance Program web site. This web site enables you to test your dial up Internet Connection against a benchmark of 19.2kbps.

  • If your Internet speed is 19.2 kbps or better, you will be given general tips on how to optimise your Internet connection.
     
  • If your Internet speed is slower than 19.2kbps, you will be given step by step instructions on how to adjust your modem and computer settings for optimal speed.

You can retest at any time to see if your Internet speed has improved. However, you will need to disconnect from the Internet and re-connect to test the new settings.

The test will take up to two minutes, depending on your current Internet Speed.

The Internet Assistance Program is available to residential and business customers (with a maximum of two lines) of any Internet Service Provider, who have a dial-up connection on the Telstra fixed line network.

Enter the telephone number of the line that your modem uses to connect to the Internet, (not the number you dial to connect to your ISP), then click the 'Check Eligibility' button.
